The art of light set up

Turning Japone, originally uploaded by redhatkeeper.

I was studying and practicing light set up under Ken Go(master photographer) back then.
We are five our group.
While the others are shooting using the strobe set up.
I was waiting for my turn.
She called my attention and poses.
She was getting ready for her turn.
I used the available light(window with blinds) to illuminate her with little light creating a 1:16 ratio showing drama.
Sorry, I can't seem to remember her name.

Finally, at Last!

Lian smile, originally uploaded by redhatkeeper.

He was very hard to shoot. Very picky on poses.
His smiles are so hard to come by.
When I had the chance, I took it like it's the only one I got.

Model: Lian Martin

The Boy That is not Cotonou

The Boy That is not Cotonou, originally uploaded by redhatkeeper.

He was smiling cheerfully that day
Asking for alms from just anyone.
He saw us. Being a foreigner in Cotonou, Benin, Africa.
We were like Chinese or Japanese.
I would imitate a poorly blah blahs of Nihonggo.

"Ohayo gusaimasu!" (Good Morning!)

He just smiled again. I pointed my camera and snapped.
Then I showed him the picture. I think that made his day.
